Examinations of routine checkups include:

  • Counseling: Discomforts during pregnancy such as swelling, varicose veins, bleeding, abdominal pain, headache and epilepsy
  • Physical examinations: Weight, blood pressure, abdominal distension (Fundal Height Mesurement), Fetal heart beat, position of the fetus.
  • Laboratory testing: Urine protein, Urine glucose
  • Pregnant women with Rubella IgG (-) should have vaccination after delivery
  • One-Stop Clinic for Assessment of Risk (OSCAR)s
  • Aminocentesis : for 34 years or older pregnant women


The following abnormalities can be found out by ultrasound

  • Fetal morphology, Number and position of fetus, Abnormality of amniotic fluid, Brainless syndrome, Dwarfism, Conjoined twins and Tumor in fetus.
  • Mother-to-be can have this exam at 20-24 and 32-37 of pregnancy.
